The 10 Unhappiest Jobs in America, Does Money Buy Happiness?

I found an article By Vivian Giang on Yahoo Finance..
The 10 Unhappiest Jobs of America
The Article states:

Here are the top 10 jobs that make workers' lives miserable.

1. Security Officer

Average salary:
$29,641
Bliss Score: 3.510/5

Why: "People might think that the work environment security guards often face, such as working late hours alone at night, would be what contributes to unhappiness," Matt Miller, the chief technology officer at CareerBliss told Smith. "However, our data shows that growth opportunities and lack of rewards in this field is what affected the overall sentiment around this type of job. Work environment scored relatively high."

Description: Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. The BLS projected the growth of these jobs to be 18 percent through 2020.

2. Registered Nurse

Average salary:
$60,857
Bliss Score: 3.549/5

Why: "Nurses . . . have more issues with the culture of their workplaces, the people they work with and the person they work for," Golledge says.

Description: Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions. The BLS projected the growth of these jobs to be 26 percent through 2020.

3. Teacher

Average salary:
$43,663
Bliss Score: 3.595/5

Why: CareerBliss' chief executive Heidi Golledge told Smith: "CareerBliss has found through our research that teachers appear to be quite happy with their work and their co-workers. However, the rewards for their work, lack of support and lack of opportunities to be promoted counteract many of the good parts of the job."

Description: Prepare students for future schooling and working by teaching them a variety of subjects. The BLS projected the growth of grade school teaching jobs to be 17 percent through 2020.

4. Sales Engineer

Average salary:
$71,283
Bliss Score: 3.636/5

Why:
Smith reports that these engineers don't appreciate the "lack of growth opportunities, company's culture, compensation and support."

Description: Sell complex scientific and technological products or services to businesses. They must have extensive knowledge of the products’ parts and functions and must understand the scientific processes that make these products work. The BLS projected the growth of these jobs to be 14 percent through 2020.

5. Product Manager

Average salary:
$81,865
Bliss Score: 3.648/5

Why: Smith says that these workers "voiced unhappiness with the range of growth opportunities, compensation, company culture and support."

Description: A blog describes product managers as those who "conceive the idea; run with it for many months; ... gather, [develop], test, [go] through the painful exercise of bringing that product to market, and then support it until it is made obsolete."

6. Program Manager

Average salary:
$94,371
Bliss Score: 3.655/5

Why: Jacquelyn Smith at Forbes reports that "the unhappiest aspects of [this] job are a lack of growth opportunities, the culture of the company they work for and the surrounding workplace support system."

Description: Plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise construction projects from early development to completion. The program managers' responsibilities are finished when the product is delivered, and they turn it over to the product managers.

7. Marketing Manager

Average salary:
$64,437
Bliss Score: 3.677/5

Why: Thomas O. Davenport at TLNT.com says: "With many organizations expecting managers to act as player-coaches, both performing and overseeing work, their roles often become complex and unwieldy."

Description: Plan programs to generate interest in a product or service. They work with art directors, sales agents, and financial staff members.

8. Director of Sales

Average salary: $91,821
Bliss Score: 3.677/5

Description: Set sales goals, analyze data, and develop training programs for the organization’s sales representatives. The BLS projected the growth of these jobs to be 12 percent through 2020.

Average salary:
$68,873
Bliss Score: 3.688/5

10. Maintenance Supervisor

Average salary:
$52,799
Bliss Score: 3.691/5

Why: Long hours and a lot of on-call schedules.

Description: Reviewing contracts to ascertain service, machine, and workforce requirements; answering inquiries from potential customers regarding methods, material, and price ranges; and preparing estimates according to labor, material, and machine costs.

Now that you have been informed of the 10 Unhappiest Jobs in America,
Did you notice that the top 2 and 3 are suppose to be "rewarding" jobs?
That most people choose these professions not because of the money, but simply because  they want to help people or make this world a better place?
Its unfortunate to think that one of the Unhappiest jobs would be a teacher!
A Teacher shows our kids the future. This is like a home away from home.
Would you want your child learning from someone who is miserable going to work?
Their attitude comes forward in there lesson plans.
I don't know if  you are like me, but no matter how hard someone tries to fake it, I can tell when someone is having a bad day.
The thing is, kids tend to be the most observant. They pick up on things that most adults tend to over look.
So how are they suppose to learn from someone who doesn't even want to be there themselves?
I understand that it says most teachers like their job but dislike the pay. But I can still see how this would affect their attitude.
Then you have the Registered nurse. Another job that is extremely necessary and under appreciated.
These people see things that the normal person doesn't have to see on a day to day basis.
Nurses see death, children sick, and cancer as part as their everyday routine.
They also get to help the same kinds of patients. They see kids get the treatment they needed and people with the minor problems get help.
Every job it has its ups and downs.
Think of it this way though, both of these jobs are in high demand!
This is what many new individuals look forward to as their future!
This article says that the majority of these people are going to spend all this time and money to become something that is going to make them unhappy!
Do you think if money was taken out of the equation that people would really enjoy their job more?
No money does not buy happiness but for some people they feel that it would help.
As a parent does this worry you about the teachers that are teaching your children?
As a college student does this worry you that your career choice could potentially be a depressing future?

My goal is to help moms who are struggling with everyday expenses

Hi moms..
I started a charity fundraiser through GoGetFunding.
My goal with this is to help moms who are struggling with everyday expenses.
Some of these expenses would be as such;
*Groceries
*Bills
*diapers
*medical expenses
*toys for the kids
*Gas money
*Day care
Anything pretty much.
Today's economy is tough.
There are so many women doing things to help their families and I want to show them they dont have to do it on their own..They aren't alone .
Us moms have to stick together!
This could be us one day, we lose a job, we get hurt, god forbid... one of our children gets sick..
Lets help each other!
A dollar.. can buy baby wipes ( ok a small package) or a kids toy.
Ive been trying to find ways to help other moms.. and this is it!
I don't want "too proud moms" to struggle anymore and not ask for help.
Im tired of hearing everyone elses success stories and there are women still struggling to keep food on the table.
I realize I cant help everyone.. but I want to be able to help SOMEone..
If you are willing to help
Go here to donate
Thank you moms

You can be anything you want to be

Do you remember being a little kid?
You had all these crazy dreams.
You wanted to be an astronaut or a sports star or a ballerina.
You want to be a Super hero, like Spiderman or Captain America or a movie star.

You dream BIG.
You know no limits.
Everything and anything is possible.
You love life.
You’re happy and carefree.
Your parents tell you you can be anything you set your mind to.
So you decide..
OK:) with a smile from ear to ear..
I am going to learn how to fly!!
Then as time passes life happens and you start to become a little older and a little wiser..
You realize,
Ok.. is what I really want reachable?
So you start to doubt yourself and question your self worth.
You put negative thoughts in place of those wishes that use to be dreams.
But you decide that THIS is what I want and I KNOW I can do it.
People start to doubt you too.
Your parents start to put in place the reality that maybe you wont be a super hero and no , you cant fly.
But something inside of you says..
But I can be anything I want to be right?
So you set your mind on being a pilot..
Its this part of the road where it comes to the fork..
Turn left and that’s the road less traveled. People doubt you. Days aren’t always easy and times do get rough. You have to work hard and never give up. You lose friends along the way because they don’t understand the passion you have to push towards living your dreams.
You have to study hard and even when you feel like giving up, you just keep going!!!
Now if you take a right at the fork, this is the easy road.
A lot of people are on this path.
Its easy. Its fun.You live for nothing but the current moment.
Life is easy because no one thinks you’re trying to be greater than them. You’re just like everyone else.
Nothing ever changes and the days are always the same. But its easy. You’re in your comfort zone. So you stick with it… but at this turn you will never reach your dream. Every day you always wonder what if? or what might have been.
So right now, present day, you’re standing at the fork in the road…
Are you going to let your dreams become a reality?
Or are you going to sit back and let people make your mind up for you?
As little kids we are pure. We are innocent. We believe anything is possible. Even when We are scared  we just find another way.
Then life happens. Hardships happen. We lose focus. What once was a little boy or girl fantasy, is now so distant its impossible.
But that’s where we are wrong.
WE CAN DO ANYTHING!!!
If we want something bad enough we will reach it.
Its so hard to get out of routine. Its what we know, its easy, its comfort.
The unknown is scary.
The thing is though, If we looked at things like we did as a child, maybe things wouldn’t be scary , but intriguing!
That’s what you have to do.
CHANGE your current way of thinking. Look inside yourself, to that inner child, and be brave, care free, and live your dreams. No matter what people do to try and keep you on their level.
You can be great.
Let yourself be your guide.
YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE.
Now you just have to find the willpower to keep you moving and to get you there!
Stay focused.
Write down what it is that you really want in life.
Dont let the negative people get you down.. they will try.. but dont let them.
This is your life..OWN it!
You are beautiful
No matter what you are experiencing right now.. I promise things get better..
Things happen for a reason.. even if they aren't clear in the beginning.
The best thing I ever did..
Was write a letter to myself..
I told my self the reasons I loved myself.
Im not normally a person who does this sort of thing.
Im always so worried about making everyone else happy that I forget to think of myself.
But I wrote this letter when I was at my lowest point in my life..
It is because of this letter..that I read everyday because I posted it on my mirror, that gave me courage Everyday to push forward..
You can do this too!
I wish you only the best this world has to offer..
You deserve it..
Be strong
You can be anything you want to be

Questions only MOMS could understand

Today I wake up and for some reason I have all these questions I want answers to.

Moms...
Why is it that just when you baby is about to be done with their bottle....
You know what Im talking about...
Eyes heavy..
In a few more sips they are back to la la land and you can go back to having either more sleep, or that extra five minutes of peace and quite..
Suddenly, out of no where..
You have to cough..
or sneeze..
or even the case of the, If I don't go to the bathroom right now I'm going to pee my pants?
WHAT is that??

Does anyone else have a weird new baby fetish?
I think this started with my son when he was a new born..
He had the Cutest little feet..and they were so stinky..I could never understand how something so little and cute could smell like that..Weirdest part about it?
I loved it..
I could smell them all day every day..
Gross huh?
Trust me...
I don't know why either.
So now that I have my daughter..
I love her breath! Like what is this?
Her breath is just so sweet, of course it doesn't stink, she only has but 2 teeth.
Oh, and I love my sons morning breath. Like who does that?
Me I guess..
Moms do you have any weird fetishes when It comes to your little ones?

Another random question..
Wouldn't life be so much easier if they had babysitters in the doctors office?
I know some grocery stores do this now..
But why not the doctors?
At least none in my city that I know of do..
I would go 30 minutes out of my way to go see the obgyn if they had like a little kiddy corner where someone would watch your son ( who is now 3 and way to curious and old to bring him into the office with me) while I had my exam.
I literally miss out on so many doctors appointments that I need because I don't have a sitter!

One more thing..I found the answer to one of my questions.. don't you love that?
When you figure out the answer to your own problems:)
This is genius!
You can just hook your babies car seat right into it..and Its less bulky then those other huge strollers that never want to work using one hand( because as moms we have to know how to do EVERYTHING with one hand!)

Please comment, I would love to hear what other moms have to say about these questions:)Even if its that I'm a weirdo haha

Healthy Dinner options on limited time

If you are a busy mom, like myself, you know how hard it can be to make meals for the whole family.
Let alone, want to make dinner after a long day or even work.
But with so little "healthy" options these days, you hate to run to your closest hamburger joint.
Those freezer foods tend to have so many preservatives and things you don't like to feed your kids, but you don't  have many options when you're on limited time.
So if your trying to find healthy options..
Or even just trying to lose weight yourself and have been having a hard time fitting THAT into your schedule too.. well I found a place you can start:)

Bistro MD says:

Craigslist "free" items

You might already be well aware of this..
But if you're not, you SHOULD be..
Did you know that Craigslist has a "free" section?
You can actually get things that people either dont want anymore or are moving and need to get rid of things right away.
If you are a crafty mom, there are lots of things people give a way that you could refurbish!
These items all go rather quickly, but if you keep a close eye you can benefit greatly.
There has been items like swingsets, excersise equipment and kids toys.
These will be listings from your own city, so if you live in a smaller town of course, it wont be as popular.

Kids Alphabet Books

So I have an opinion on kids Alphabet books.
You're trying to teach your kids certain letters that are associated with a certain word...
Example:
A is for Apple
B is for Ball
and so on.
Then you get letters that are as such:
G is for Gorilla..Which 90% of the time your child says monkey..G is for monkey
I is for Igloo.. My son says.. I is for Castle.
J is for Jacks.. My son says.. J is for star..because the Jack looks like a star.
Then the always famous..Q is for Quilt..What does my son say? Q is for blanket, of course.
Yes my son is only 3 years old.
But I feel like they should have letters associated with things that age should know. Or know that monkey is first in their vocabulary.. not gorilla.
Does anyone know of a good book or flash cards that are more modern?
Or a book that I can try and use with my 3 year old?
