Military Spouses can get money for your education and help to start a business!

Being a Military Spouse has its hardships.
So its nice to know there can also be perks that can come along with it.
First things first, in case you were unaware, Military wives can get  grants to help pay for school.
Go to MyCAA at MilitaryOneSource.mil

This is an excellent site, especially if you are new to the world of being a military spouse.
This site helps you with deployments, counseling services, parenting and childcare, moving, (the list goes on and on), but most importantly, help with money for your education.

There's a great site I found that can help you find franchises that are"Military Friendly".
They offer great discounts towards the price of buying a franchise.
Franchises are a great way to own a business because alot of the hard work has already been taken out for you.
This is what the site says for military spouses wanting to start a franchise:

"Being a military spouse has taught you skills like perseverance, discipline, tenacity, and the ability to operate independently. These skills are the perfect foundation for a franchise owner. With franchises, you don’t need an MBA, business experience or a killer idea. Franchises are proven business models that come with directions. The franchise concept is sometimes compared to baking: The franchisee uses a proven recipe and, following the step-by-step instructions, bakes a delicious cake. They’re not baking it from scratch – they’re using grandma’s recipe that everyone already knows and loves. If you’re looking to earn extra income on the side and operate a business out of your house, a home-based franchise may be the perfect fit. "

I think This is a great fit for the Military Spouse because you never know when you might be up-rooted  from where you are stationed and required to move again.
An at home business or franchise can be a great option because you will be able to operate it from your home, and for some, any where there is an internet connection.

Did you know???

If you work out of the home some things may be a tax write off?

These are a few examples:

Home Office Deduction–  Home based businesses have the opportunity to take a home office deduction for the area in your home where you conduct business (principal place of business). If you meet the requirements then you can calculate a percentage of your rent or mortgage, insurance, utilities, interest, improvements and repairs. The IRS has an excellent guide on how to claim the Home Office Deduction.

Auto Expenses – The mileage used to ship packages, purchase office supplies and travel to trade shows are a few deduction examples. Fuel costs can also be deducted. Be sure to check with your CPA on the standard mileage deduction.

Travel – All expenses for business trips can be deducted. Note that for meals you get a 50% deduction.

Start-Up Costs – The tax deduction you can take during the start-up year is a major benefit to owning your own business so please talk to your CPA about how to claim it.

Other Deductions: A few other deductions are phone and internet expenses, office supplies, education and health insurance.

*All of the deductions mentioned above are available to those who operate an online business. By owning your own business you are able to take a tax advantage and reduce the amount of income that is taxed. For a more detailed analysis please talk to your CPA or Accountant.
